New Ulaanbaatar International Airport LLC, a Mongolian-Japanese joint venture, was established on July 1, 2019 and signed a concession agreement with the Government of Mongolia on July 5, 2019 to implement the Ulaanbaatar New International Airport Management Project. The project will expand the airport's operations and increase its capacity.

The Khushig Valley Transportation and Logistics Center is planned in two versions. Option 1, it will initially cover 340 hectares and will be expanded to 1,589 hectares. Under Option 2, it will initially operate on 276 hectares of land and plans to expand to 800 hectares. The logistics center is planned to have a customs container area with a railway, a closed customs warehouse with a railway, a cold and heat warehouse, a shed area, a container area, and an open and unloading area.

Current capacity: Deglii Tsagaan Airport was commissioned in 2011. The air traffic control tower has an area of 41m2, the capacity of the building is 100 passengers per hour, and there are 60 parking spaces.

Aerodrome:

The terminal will be built on a total area of 50 hectares and will increase its current processing capacity from 0.3 million tons to 1 million tons. The construction of the loading and unloading terminal will create 150 permanent jobs.

The construction of the “EG” hydropower plant will create a 5.7 billion m3 fresh water reservoir, protect surface water resources, use them properly, protect against flood risks, save 438.7 thousand tons of coal per year, and reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by 706 thousand tons. The energy generated by this project will be an efficient adjustment to the integrated energy system and a source capable of overcoming peak loads. It will ensure energy independence and save $ 25-26 million in annual import duties on Russia. Conditions will be created for the development of regional natural tourism, water sports, fishing, intensive agriculture and agricultural production.

Tsetsens Mining and Energy LLC is working to build a 300 MW power plant based on the Booroljuut coal mine in the Bagakhangai district as part of a public-private partnership. The first phase of the project will include the construction of a 300 MW (2x150 MW) power plant, a coal mine with a capacity of more than 3 million tons per year, and the construction of a 71 km 220 kV transmission line with a total investment of approximately $632 million.

The power system in the Eastern Region, to which this line belongs, operates separately from the Central Power System, and the existing 255 MW OHLs 209 and 210 were first commissioned in 1978. The load on this line increases by 80-90 MW during heavy winter loads, and the expected consumption is 222-286 MW.

The project will ensure the quality, reliability, safety and stability of electricity in Dornogovi, Dundgovi, Khentii, Umnugovi and Sukhbaatar aimags, as well as increase the capacity of the line and meet the growing regional energy needs.
